I’ve updated my Wallpapers Download Page

One of the projects that’s been on my list has been to improve the experience for folks browsing and downloading the Free Wallpapers I make available. Since I’m now enthusiastically unemployed, when I started to consider which projects to tackle first, that was the one that popped up to the top.

I’m happy to say that update is now live. The old page required you to download batches of images as ZIPs, and unpack them before you could use them. The ability to browse and review them before downloading was also limited. The revamped page solves these issues, so you can now look at all the images and download any and all you want without having to download the batches. I’ve also re-organized the images from batches based on when I released them into broader subject categories. Finally, these changes also allowed me to finally figure out how to download them on IOS devices, and I’ve included instructions on how to do that (Sorry, Android users, I have no experience there so I’m not sure what to recommend. Suggestions?). The images look fine on my iPad and iPhone, saving me the challenge, it seems, of building specific images for those devices, another project I’d never gotten around to. A couple of the images have been cleaned up a bit, but in general, if you’ve already got the images you want, there’s no need to re-download them.

Now that this is done, I will be releasing a new batch of wallpaper images shortly. Stay tuned for an announcement on those when they’re released.
