Cooper’s Hawk

Photography has been slow recently (mostly weather and lack of time), but the other day I looked out the window and saw a blob in one of the trees. Thinking it might be an owl, I went to get a better look. What I saw instead was a recent new visitor to our place, an adult Cooper’s Hawk, who was calmly sitting out on a branch overlooking the bird feeders. It (I think he) has made a couple of passes at the Juncos that I’ve watched, and missed each time, but it seems to have moved in at least for a while. I’ll be curious if I see any hint of nesting activity as we move into spring.
